Yesterday

I had visitors. My friend from my old work, Ida, and her little girl Macey. Zali is about 10 weeks older than Macey. We had a lovely day, especially when they got to eat leaves in the backyard when their mothers took them out in the freezing cold for the sole purpose of photos. I will post more of the two little leaf-eaters another day.

I didn't get to blog yesterday cause the morning was filled with our lovely visitors, then filing, then a little girl wanted her mother to stay at bedtime for cuddles. So I stayed, and had my cup of tea in bed. Nice.

So, my filing was pretty uneventful. You can move in the room, but there are now piles in folders, waiting to be sorted. I am feeling a little cramped and sore. Maybe cause I am old and brittle, or out of practice with filing . . . you think? Note to self: keep up to date!!

Bedtime? Well, that was early and probably much needed. Not sure if Zali's tooth is still a little tender, seems to be trying to get through those little gums still. She growled at me during the night, I think cause she had too many layers on. I took a layer off and she decided sleeping was better than growling.

Okey, I have to pack my scrap bag for a day out tomorrow. My mate Liz is picking me up at 9am and we are heading to a 'hut' in Springwood where I will scrap and scrap and chat. I think I get home about 3pm. Hopefully the children would have slept and had afternoon tea and be nice and happy and cheerful. Cross your fingers for me.

How did you spend your weekend? Tell me!

To Mel

Today was a fabulous day because this wonderful girl celebrated her birthday!

Happy Birthday Mel!

I remember you were off overseas enjoying yourself this time last year (has it been that long already?). And this coming year will be mighty special for you and beloved . . . as you glide down the aisle (grass) to marry Brent, followed by another fabulous overseas trip (aka honeymoon)!

I am very proud and honoured to be your friend and share these wonderful days and moments with you. You are such a great mate to me, you are caring, supportive, loving, generous, and have a beautiful heart. We have shared tears and laughter and plenty of good food - oh, did I mention you are a fantastic cook also? Our friendship has flourished over the years and I am very thankful to have you in my life.

There is so much I could say, but basically, I love you. Have a fabulous birthday!

Kisses and hugs and love. And special little boy hugs and little girl hugs from C and Z.

Can't Reach

Howdy. Today I finally started to organise my 'filing'. If you piled it all together, I think you could nearly build a tree. Thus . . . my study is completely covered in papers, and I can hardly reach the computer. My chair is pushed into the far corner, and I am bending and straining to hits these little square keys.

Just checking in to say hi, share a photo of the 4 cousins, and get back to my filing . . .

This was from a visit a while back. Caleb, Campbell, Finn and Zali. Peace.

Happy Birthday Kate!

Happy Birthday to the wonderful Kate! She is a beautiful person inside and out, very caring and loving and a cheeky little character!! I used to work with Kate at LGAQ, and it was great to see her everyday. These days, she still works her little heart out in the Training Department, and we don't often get the chance to catch up.

She brightens your day with her bubbleyness (is that word?) and love of life and her shining smile. I want you to know that you are a very special person. Hugs, love and kisses from me to you! And you can also have some little boy and little girl snuggles too - what a special day!

New Table

Did you know we got a new table? We put all our birthday money together (thanks Mum, Debbie, Graham, Kelly, Teagan and Alex) and added a little more to get this lovely little set. Wanted something like this for ages!

Honestly, who is voting for Mimi MacPherson? There must be some sort of fan base out there for her, but lets face it . . . she isn't very good. It Takes Two was fun tonight with Michael Buble singing two songs - I like him, he sings well and enjoys it!

This morning we battled the traffic and rain to head over for a 9am appointment at the Wesley Hospital. Time for Caleb to be measured for a new arm splint. Our lovely therapist, Cathy, is very pleased with his progress! This time he is have a picture of a truck on his arm - hope that turns out well. He is also have a hand splint. It is to help him keep open his hand, just a little to start with, and increasing down the track. We talked about the possibility of Botox injections in his upper limb, and she said it would benefit him and 'be good'.

This is in sync with our regular occupational therapist, the lovely Katrina, who agrees that it would be good for Caleb. I think at this point, the paediatrician at the Royal Children's Hospital thinks we should look at his arm and potential for Botox at our next appointment later in the year. Will see how things pan out then.

After that appointment, we shot out to playgroup. It was small (due to the weather) and noisey, but the kids got to play. And I got a Mint Slice biscuit. And I think Adrian thought it was a little crazy.

The afternoon was a mix of sleeping and not sleeping and miserableness and going to Civic Video for Terrific Tuesdays - $1 DVD's!! Got 2 overnighters - Boytown and Flicka.

Sits down to watch Boytown, and half way through we have a power blackout. Whodathunkit? I then lay on the floor rolling around with the kids until I was squished and prodded and told not to sing anymore . . . by a nearly 3 year old. Hmpf.

Have you seen Boytown? A number of times I laughed out loud, Caleb and Zali looked at me very strangely. They thought my laughing was funny and laughed at me. No, not with me, at me. Wasn't a fabulous storyline, just easy to watch and have a bit of a laugh. Have always liked Mick Molloy, Glen Robbins, Tony Martin etc, they are good for a laugh.

Okey, night night.

The Kids

These are probably May-ish photos. My two angels (sometimes!).

Two in a Row!

Holy smoke, Batman! Two entries in two days!

This morning Caleb had his haircut. It went pretty well. He sat on my lap, I had a cape and he had a cape. But we both were still covered in hair. I used the good old bribe technique 'you be a good boy and you can have a chocolate milkshake', which seems to work most of the time.

Zali was getting tired, and needed Mummy cuddles (read: hold me until I fall asleep and I don't care how much this hurts your back). I was looking for kids footy socks, do they make these? Caleb has recently acquired a new orthotic and we need long socks that go higher than the boot. I looked in Big W and couldn't find them, and with my back muscles now starting to burn holding a sleeping angel, I decided I would try girls tights. They are quite thick, like thin socks, and I can make them as long as I want. Hmm, good thinking I told myself. Fingers crossed they do the job, cause I am not sure what other option I have. I will take a photo of his new boot and post another day, it has a camo design!

We went to Jamaica Blue for a coffee and chocolate milkshake. The shake came with pink umbrella and little yellow monkey hanging over the cup. Why don't I get a pink umbrella and little yellow monkey hanging over my coffee cup? Oh, and you get a little crunchy choc-chip biscuit with your coffee . . . until some little pudgey fingers steals it and demolishes in one mouthful! Nooooooooo.

Zali is still sleeping, as we start to head for the car. The little crunchy choc-chip biscuit thief decides it is time to spread his wings, and run, any direction, and only look back to see if Mum is following if the feeling strikes. Did I forget to mention by this time we have a tired boy, and tired boys don't really like to follow instructions from their mothers?

I want to do a bit of scrapbooking now, while everyone seems happy. Caleb is up sleeping and Zali is with Daddy. I will post my last two completed pages for you to see, later on.

Have a lovely day - this dull, drizzley, cool type of day is perfect to lay in bed and snuggle under a doona. Mmmmmmmm.

Regular

That is what I would like to be with this blog. I created it a few months ago, (quite a few) but don't seem to get around to doing anything. The last post I did, well, that was a few months ago also. Hmmm.

So. I will attempt (ahem) to update this blog regularly.

Why would little old me want a blog? Well, being a hip, young, happenin' thang I thought I had better get me one of these. Yep, ok, maybe not hip, and might be slowly leaving the 'young' behind, and yes I agree the 'happenin' has happened and left town. So, lets go with .... Have computer, can type.

And here is my welcome . . . .

Welcome to my blog. I will talk about me, my husband, my son, my daughter, my other family members, share photos and thoughts (very random, probably will not make sense to a logical thinking sort of person, and I cannot promise that my thoughts will be
interesting.... at all). However, do check back, cause with the slim chance I win a disgusting amount of money on the 4 lotto entries I purchase per year, this would be the place I would post photos of my disgusting wads of money. Or maybe a bathful of money, with me in there, sipping Moet.

Mmmm. See, would you really want to miss that?

Oh, and by the way, I would love to hear from you! Leave a comment, nice ones would be preferable! Okey, the baby is not happy and probably needs to go to bed - must mean my dinner is nearly ready . . . and there goes the oven bell right now. We are having roast beef with potato and pumpkin for dinner. Yummo!
