Early as Usual

Up bright and early for the markets. After hardly any sleep. I had the cat on the bed at my feet - I think she was trying to stay away from all the kids. I was awake more than hourly and rarely in more than a doze as I was worried if one of the kids woke up then we would have a house full of awake cranky kids. Of course it didn't happen and they were all fast asleep at the 5am wake up time for this worrying idiot.

Griff and I at the markets. After we have done our 'work' it is sit down and have a coffee time. And snuggle time for the Griffster.

Grandma, Sheree and I took off this morning to the cinema to see 17 Again. I had a few giggles and a coffee and a choc top. When we returned home the kids were rowdily waiting for their lunch before toddling off for a nap, on the premise of a park visit later in the day.

We walked down to the park this afternoon. David and Finn returned shortly after as Finn wasn't in the best of moods. Campbell stayed and played with Caleb and Zali. Griff had a wee swing but was mostly happy sitting in his 'ride' checking out the view.

My aim tomorrow is to get a few decent shots of the kids together. Never work with children or animals. I feel this potential photo shoot will support the fact that there is little difference between the two - children and animals that is.

Penguin

Usual Saturday of groceries and other errands at the shops. Bought a few more groceries to feed the brood as there are many mouths to feed this weekend. Sheree, David, Campbell and Finn arrived late this afternoon to stay the weekend. Caleb and Zali were very excited and continually asked when they would be arriving. Next time I may accidentally forget to tell my little angels about our visitors until they just appear magically.

This morning as we unpacked our groceries, Griffy had a play on the mat in the toy room. He was being happily playful and doing lots of 'penguin flying' so I tried to capture it. Not so successful with the flying shots, but I got a few goodies.

Perhaps next time I will try and clean his face.

This is him 'penguin flying'. It is cute to see. He lays on his belly and reminds me of a penguin sliding down some ice with its little wing-things flapping at the side. But he also looks like he is flying. If I could sit him on a surfboard it would like he was enjoying some waves. This is a crazy shot - arms and legs all flapping/flying and that face is saying 'i am cheeky!'

Supposed to be 16 degrees in the morning. Looking forward to that. Off to the markets just after 5am and will need a jumper - lovely. Bring on the winter baby!

Pledge

An out of focus dodgy shot. But. The everyday moment captured is perfect. Griff (clothed by the beautiful Kate) mesmerised by Caleb (in last years way-too-short jimmies) and Zali still waking up with her messy hair wearing her new Dora jimmies.

Happy first of May. The best month of the year! I am going to blog every day this month, since I have been a bad blogger of recent times. Cripes, why did I have this brainstorming idea on a 31 day month . . . doh!

Mrs Sleep

I have a cold. Yuck.

Griffy has been out of character and upset and I think his poor little gums are hurting - more toothy pegs . . . currently good friends with Bonjella and baby panadol.

We haven't been real good friends with Mrs Sleep. She doesn't seem to like us lately, at all. The worst of it is during the day when the kids don't want to sleep, even though they need it, but I nearly fall asleep waiting for them to fall asleep. When they disturb me cause they still don't want to go to sleep, well, lets just say if my head wasn't already pounding I would be looking for a brick wall to smack myself with. Or them?

Have to go blow my nose again and get a cup of tea to warm my sad little throat. Sniff.

Toe Sadness

My left big toe used to have a halfway decent nail. Used to. Over three years ago while moving a bookcase my husband, precious dear, dropped it on my toe. It hurt. I jumped around in pain, he thought it was funny. Again, precious dear.

It took forever to come off and another forever to somewhat grow back. Obviously my modelling career is totally ruined. Hmpf.

These days, my poor big toe sort-of-nail has been in the wars. Mum stood on it, with a swinging foot. It hurt so much my poor big toe cried tears of blood. Everywhere. I think this also made the nail start to fall off . . . again. Caleb stands on it. Zali stands on it. All. The. Time.

I am sure it has a red freakin' light that screams out 'Stand On Me Please'.

Yesterday while I was setting up some folding chairs in the garage for Caleb, Zed and I to wait for the school bus, a chair fell on my toe. Not my foot, just my toe. My poor sad toe. It ripped the nail off to hang by a small thread. It was obviously fixing itself and growing a new nail.

Today it still hangs by a small thread - and it will until it works itself off as that small thread is pure pain. I just hope it doesn't take another year to grow the new nail back.

For some reason Zed thinks Caleb hurt it and keeps asking why did he hurt my toe. I think my toe needs to meet up with Sonia Kruger so they can work out how my toe can look 10 years younger in 10 days.

Another Girl!

My sweet friend Jill had her second baby on Thursday. Very much wanted and loved little baby and huge congratulations go to Jill, Greg and Catie!

Here is an excerpt from JJ's blog:

Amelia Alice Brown
Our adorable Amelia Alice arrived on Thursday at 8.51am weighing 7lb 4oz (3.305kg) and 48cm long. A petite little package and she's oh so cute. The other night I heard the midwives say Jillian's fine in there but looking a little besotted. I had Amelia laying on the bed in front of me and I was just staring at her. We are all so in love with her.

With all these babies arriving I am feeling a little clucky. A newborn is just so delicious! Then they become toddlers . . .

A New One

A new person will be born tomorrow. It is a lucky new little person. Lucky to come into a wonderful happy beautiful family who much want and love this little person. Exciting times.

You know what I love? Face wash. I love to use foaming face wash and thoroughly clean my face. I. Love. It. I love the fresh clean feeling. I love the foam suddsing up and working its magic. I love a good face cleaning. It is not right to ever miss out on this simple joy. I love it. It is my final little treat at the end of my shower, grabbing that sweet little bottle of foaming face wash. Oh those few seconds are just bliss. Sigh.

Note: supposedly suddsing is not a word, not a word this little spellcheck will accept. i am positive if this little spellcheck could use the foaming face wash it would allow the word.

Missed Him

Easter is gone, now the junk mail has moved to Mothers Day. Might start seeing some tinsel arriving at the shops soon! Sheesh.

Caleb and Zali had a fun filled, chocolate filled, cool and happy long weekend with Nan & Pop, Uncle Kewy (kelly), Aunty Teagan and Uncle Awex (alex). The husband went up for half the weekend and it seems I was the unlucky one (except for Griffy who doesn't eat anyway) who missed out on a ripper roast dinner complete with the yummy cauliflower and white sauce, roast pumpkin (lick lips here) and roast potato. Damn it. I very much needed some down time without my little angels, however if I knew that dinner was involved . . .

The cute part? They missed their baby brother! Both have been playing with him, wanting cuddles on the lounge with him, kissing his feet/hands so he responds with big smiles for them (v. cute!) and the first thing Zali said when she woke up this morning? "Where is bubby Biff?" I asked if they missed him and both said Yes. Very sweet for this old mumma to hear.

Happy Easter 2009

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby. Well, perhaps stealing a kiss from a sleeping baby. Our friend Annabelle said he is "so kissable!"

Happy Hoppy Easter to you and your family. Enjoy your short break and time with friends and/or family but especially enjoy any little treats the little while fluff-ball on four legs left for you!

Introducing . . .

Matilda Jean Tealby
Friday 3 April 2009. 4320grams 9lb 5oz. 54cms long.

Pretty much a 2 hour 20 minute introduction into the world. Not bad work before morning tea break huh?

This is a cute photo - bit of trickery - she was resting on my shoulder but it looks as if she is peeking around to say 'Hi!' Being 30-ish hours old she isn't *really* peeking or saying hi, but maybe next week?

Cuddles with her Mummy, while Daddy unwrapped the chocolates meant for Mummy! They are all doing nicely and I am sure they are pretty proud and soaking up the love. Amy is now a big sister. Congratulations and much love to you.
