(again) Slack

Slack slack little blogger! Between birthdays and parties and sick children my time has been spread quite thin. Will share some photos this week as time allows - got a few hundred of late.

Happy Birthday to Amy!

She is now 2 years old. She had a little butterfly party at a park at Coorparoo. Lovely morning with lovely weather and a happy bunch of kids. Janene made a cool butterfly cake!

Let us all have a *great* week!

Big Boy

Happy Birthday Caleb!

Five years old.

We have had cake and party food coming out of our ears but could not miss out on something on his actual birthday while having a nice quiet dinner at home with our little family. Go the Freddo icecream cake!

Busy

Busy busy. The school holidays were busy with appointments for Caleb and the nights were pretty busy with a sore and sorry Griffin (his gums have big lumps, the Bonjella helps, just wish we could see something poking through to warrant his pain).

This week I am making pirate type things and preparing for Caleb's Pirate Birthday party. Today I had five loads of washing and not any time to shower. Showers are *so* nice. Mmm. I have limited time to finish preparing for the party before Friday is spent at the Royal Childrens Hospital for another round of Botox - upper and lower limb. Saturday is a right off with Caleb's best mate at school having her party in the morning followed by my cousin's party for 1 year old Max in the afternoon. Cripes, writing it all down makes it even worse.

I'm off to make some pirate sashes.

Jeez

July already? Cmon.

Quite a few things that haven't been blogged, but I had intended on.

Happy Birthday to Kate, hope you had a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday to Mel, hope you had a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday to Debbie - have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Just Jill is in town with her two girls - I will get to meet Baby Amelia next week - wahooo!

The King of Pop. Gone. He is one person who will live on through history. Michael Jackson was the music I listened to growing up. I still listen to. Timeless music that is good and easy and catchy and good. I feel quite sad for him, I wish he could have grown up from that cute little boy into a man with ease and have been comfortable in his own skin.

And this cute little boy . . . .

is crawling! He has been getting around a room with ease for a while - backwards, sidewards, anything really. He can sit, drop down on his belly & play and return back up on his bottom to sit. He loves standing up, he walks well when I hold him up by his hands, he strongly pushes himself into a hands and feet/downward dog type position, he is loving it!

Today he pulled himself up on the easel . . . and fell - the cries were from fright, from a sore head hitting the carpet, from a 'what the hell just happened?' I think if he is pulling himself up now, well, there *may* be quite a few more falls coming our way.

His crawl is delightful. Very bouncy and new. Very strong and he even leaps forward with his feet pushing as well. Delightful.

On the weekend when the mower chose to behave in an uncooperative manner, the tools came out. Two lots of tools for two mowers. Awww, so sweet!

Sweet. Well. When this sweet little thing had enough of drawing on her paper (and the table - see the large black circle?) she moved onto her hand. I caught her in action. Little (sweet) terror. We visited Caleb's little school. She has a lot of fun when we visit. Caleb gets extremely excited seeing us, he nearly bursts and gets loud - the excitement comes out in volume.

Have a great Friday and weekend. An unwell baby hasn't been fabulous for my naps, this Mummy needs to catch up.

Security?

Caleb and I just walked in to the study. There is a baby blanket laying over his keyboard. I figure he isn't concerned about dust, so . . .

Caleb, why is there a blanket over your computer?

So Zali can't see it and she won't touch any of my buttons.

(quiet snigger from Mummy here).

Daddy walks in. I share the story with him and we both have a little snigger.

Daddy says 'is that so Zali won't touch your computer, mate?'

Yep.

Do you think she is silly, Caleb?

Yep.

Lovely Cuddles

What a week. First half of the week I was burning the candle at both ends with early starts and late finishes. The Husband was away for work and The Mother had training at work until 8.30pm. I was pretty pooped by the end of each day - got some good routines going, had to get my little soldiers into a pattern.
The second half of the week just flew by with bad bad headaches and a slight infection to suffer through. Griffy has been crook and is left currently with a runny nose. Caleb has picked up a cough and a bit of a runny nose. Zali, well, at the moment she seems generally healthy.

Today we had some visitors. One of them looks like this:

Sheree, David, Campbell, Finn and Bubby Nicholas spent the day. Was lovely to see them all. Was very lovely to have some little Bubby Nicholas cuddles. A rainy day isn't the most appropriate day to have a house full of kids!

annual play day

Today was my Husband's works' Annual Family Day. The staff get together with their families for a fun day. Food, drinks, rides and face painting . . .

My little butterfly

Spiderman dude

And this little treasure took a nap!

Their favourite was the jumpy castle. They had this one for the smaller kids with blow up horses to ride/bounce.

Beautiful day here in the gorgeous Brisbane sunshine.

P.S. To comment on a post, 'dot' the Anonymous tag at the bottom, type in the password required (i set this up to prevent nasty spam type things) and write your message . . . you don't have to log on as it suggests, just remember to write your name so I know who dropped by. Go on . . . leave me some loving!

Pop

If we were meant to pop out of bed, we'd all sleep in toasters.

Hmmm. I thought this was funny.

6

Honestly. Who's hair-brain idea was it to try and get a 'good' photo? Six kids? Cripes, it is hard enough to get one to play nice for the camera. This is the six cousins, as at today. Bunch of raggamuffins!

Different

Three seconds spare - am heading towards the kettle actually - and I wanted a quick reminder of what my little Griffy looked like when he was born. Initial baby photos always show the pudgy squashed face that occurs at birth. The difference a few days later when things settle down is quite remarkable. I am wondering what Nicholas looks like now without the pudge.

Stumbled upon this one from October 2008 and I was really *seeing* how each child looks different. I saw the eyes. My two on the left have blue eyes. Sheree's two on the right have dark brown eyes. Quite a contrast. I don't think I have really noticed this before.

My little Griffy was 4 days old. Sniff. Seems like a life time ago.
