Sweet

Happy Mothers Day! A very sweet day.

What is a Sunday without a wake up nudge/poke at 5am, without stumbling down the stairs in the dark, without a beautiful fresh morning at the markets. Whipped the jumper on pretty quick, it was a little bit cool, brrrr. Griff was snuggled in the pram under some blankets, not moving except to smile at people. I need to invest in a little beanie for him with the long ears. His top teeth have cut through - I can see them when I blow on his belly and he giggles.

Picked up some pretty flowers at the markets - the flower stalls were running hot with customers! I love the white ones.

Picked up some fresh bread on the way home - our normal bakery stall was not at the markets today (arrgh!) and the Husband made b.e.a.utiful bacon/egg/hash brown and cheese sandwiches. Yummo.

Very sweet and very meaningful was the three little people below. Little Pandora charms for my (not yet bought) new bracelet. Fitting for Mothers Day I get a symbol of my three babies . . . boy/girl/boy. Is it just me, or does the little girl look like she is laughing so hard she is nearly falling backwards? I am wearing them on this ribbon, makes me happy!

At the groceries yesterday, Griffy saw this pretty pearl necklace and insisted I buy it for myself - it was on sale and, well, he *insisted*.

The Julia Morris book was also wrapped up for me. Thank you very much Hubbie and Kiddies!

Each year on Mothers Day I have photos taken of me and the kids. To get a winner of everyone looking and everyone smiling is increasingly difficult. Surprising, right? These two shots is when I decided to give up and commence some tickling and singing. Griffy was the only one sitting nicely for a while, but then his attention went to the dogs bouncing around and planes flying over, and of course the grass looked too good for him not to eat!

They are crazy cats but I certainly do love them (an incredibly huge amount!). I love my husband who made sure I had a lovely day. Mwah!

Standard

Pretty standard Saturday. New, however, is the tiny dot of white of a freshly broken through front top tooth in Griffy's mouth. Tomorrow there should be more and pretty soon after the friend next door will cut as well - it is very close. Hopefully they will move quickly and relieve the little man from pain.

Early to the markets for a pretty standard Sunday. Night.

A Lovely Week Ending

Crikey what a day. A lovely way to end the week, albeit a bit much sugar for this little black duck! A happy thoughtful easy day to share with you . . .

My cooking turned out ok. This is what I took into little school this morning. Custard craison biscuits and caramel struesli slice. Pretty yummy and very sweet. There were compliments which is always fantastic to hear. When the bus came this afternoon dropping Caleb off, I had two little bags of this food to give to the driver and the carer - they were very pleased and were eating a piece before they left our driveway!

Caleb was pretty stoked to have us visit. There were kids and Mummy's everywhere!

After Jackie and her guitar came to sing songs with us (she always comes for music time), it was present time! Each child got out their wrapped gift - they had painted the wrapping paper, made and decorated a 'stiletto' card and the inside gift was a beautifully made canvas! I love it. Caleb was very happy with his work and happy seeing his Mummy proud of him. A fantastic thing they do is take a photo of them doing the actual artwork and this time it is attached to the back of the canvas - great idea and makes it even more special!

A delivery man dropped off a box this afternoon. I had no idea what it was . . .

My fabulously wonderful and thoughtful Mummy-in-law and sister-in-law had sent me a Care Package to brighten my day. It is the best feeling to know that someone has thought of you and gone to all this effort - I am very thankful for them and for the package. Mwah!

Short

Cripes. The night turned a bit crazy as I tried to do the normal nightly duties and bake some biscuits and a slice. I haven't tried these before so I really had to read the instructions. Not sure if I should have tried!

A special mothers day morning tea at little school tomorrow and I wanted to bring something I made. I will keep my fingers crossed that a night in the fridge will help my slice and if I have time I will attempt the biscuits in the morning - Griffy decided to stay up until 9.50pm which made my cooking night a bit hard. He sat up there in the quiet darkness kicking around and chewing his feet and smiling at me. Supposedly he was tired and I was supposedly putting him to bed so I could continue cooking. Whatever! I can't be dragging out the mixer again at 10.20pm. I have just finished my dinner of Nutri Grain and am trying to clean up the kitchen a little.

Delicious

Imagine my surprise when I walked out to hang (the 5th load of) washing and I saw a wild animal in my backyard dismembering a defenceless harmless small monkey. I haven't much experience with capturing wild animals in their natural habitat but I was able to grab my camera to photograph the attack. It was scary.

My little girl was at kindy and my big boy was at little school. Between popping the panadol for my awful headache I basically spent the day washing. Sorting. Washing. Hanging. Un-hanging. Folding. Emptying the dishwasher. Put more in the dishwasher.

I did get to spend many many many minutes snuggling, feeding, playing, tickling and enjoying this little delicious package.

Delicious.

5

5 things on my mind on the 5th day of the 5th month.

it is late and i have not stopped and i have finally got all three kids to bed, cleaned up the kitchen and sat here with my cup of tea and little griff is calling out to me. long day.

weighing hugely on my mind is a damn headache that i haven't been able to shake all day and my darling little angels just give me a strange look if i ask them to be quiet cause my head hurts or my head is going to explode. the pain.

i have no idea what the husband wants for his upcoming birthday and he has no idea and isn't really concerned when i ask him to think about it. annoying.

i forgot to charge my Nintendo DS for my nightly session of Sudoku as I fall asleep. which doesn't really matter as my head hurts tooooo much to look at a screen - much like this one as I squint and suffer. and i do mean 'as I fall asleep' cause I fall asleep playing it and it keeps counting my time . . . so after a few nights when i eventually finish the puzzle it tells me i am slow for taking 47 minutes on a basic level. whatever.

i should have called the vet today to book in bubbles for a much needed haircut. buttons is giving me the shites barking at the new next door neighbours dogs every time they suck in some oxygen. grrrrr.

A Big Happy 3rd Birthday to Finn M.C.A.!
(Even if he says he is 5)

Finn had opened presents from the Adam side of the family on Saturday. This morning he opened presents from the Chandler side of the family. This afternoon when Finn & Co arrived safely home he opened presents from his Mummy, Daddy and brother.

If there is a person laying on the ground . . . it could only be for one reason (rest, sleep, relaxation of course isn't even considered) . . . to be jumped on! Watch out! Uncle David did have some backup when we heard (might have been my little angel) someone say 'I'm going to sit on his head!'

5 kids
and a decent shot is a tough task. Least they were clean and dressed I suppose! When the new baby cousin is born we may be needing to upgrade our seating arrangements. Zali sat squashed on the end while Caleb sprawled out casually. Campbell and Finn were happy to hold Bubby Griff . . . but can you see the pleasure and joy and cheekiness in Griffy's face as he pokes Finn? Priceless. (And I can't help but snigger . . .)

Oh, and Happy Labour Day!

Early as Usual

Up bright and early for the markets. After hardly any sleep. I had the cat on the bed at my feet - I think she was trying to stay away from all the kids. I was awake more than hourly and rarely in more than a doze as I was worried if one of the kids woke up then we would have a house full of awake cranky kids. Of course it didn't happen and they were all fast asleep at the 5am wake up time for this worrying idiot.

Griff and I at the markets. After we have done our 'work' it is sit down and have a coffee time. And snuggle time for the Griffster.

Grandma, Sheree and I took off this morning to the cinema to see 17 Again. I had a few giggles and a coffee and a choc top. When we returned home the kids were rowdily waiting for their lunch before toddling off for a nap, on the premise of a park visit later in the day.

We walked down to the park this afternoon. David and Finn returned shortly after as Finn wasn't in the best of moods. Campbell stayed and played with Caleb and Zali. Griff had a wee swing but was mostly happy sitting in his 'ride' checking out the view.

My aim tomorrow is to get a few decent shots of the kids together. Never work with children or animals. I feel this potential photo shoot will support the fact that there is little difference between the two - children and animals that is.

Penguin

Usual Saturday of groceries and other errands at the shops. Bought a few more groceries to feed the brood as there are many mouths to feed this weekend. Sheree, David, Campbell and Finn arrived late this afternoon to stay the weekend. Caleb and Zali were very excited and continually asked when they would be arriving. Next time I may accidentally forget to tell my little angels about our visitors until they just appear magically.

This morning as we unpacked our groceries, Griffy had a play on the mat in the toy room. He was being happily playful and doing lots of 'penguin flying' so I tried to capture it. Not so successful with the flying shots, but I got a few goodies.

Perhaps next time I will try and clean his face.

This is him 'penguin flying'. It is cute to see. He lays on his belly and reminds me of a penguin sliding down some ice with its little wing-things flapping at the side. But he also looks like he is flying. If I could sit him on a surfboard it would like he was enjoying some waves. This is a crazy shot - arms and legs all flapping/flying and that face is saying 'i am cheeky!'

Supposed to be 16 degrees in the morning. Looking forward to that. Off to the markets just after 5am and will need a jumper - lovely. Bring on the winter baby!

Pledge

An out of focus dodgy shot. But. The everyday moment captured is perfect. Griff (clothed by the beautiful Kate) mesmerised by Caleb (in last years way-too-short jimmies) and Zali still waking up with her messy hair wearing her new Dora jimmies.

Happy first of May. The best month of the year! I am going to blog every day this month, since I have been a bad blogger of recent times. Cripes, why did I have this brainstorming idea on a 31 day month . . . doh!
