Took it's Own Life
It was great, fun music, beautiful country, bit of eye candy (rrroarrr - Colin Firth!) and some lycra. Definitely one to have in the home DVD collection and I will certainly be on the look out for a soundtrack CD. I smiled (or laughed) through most of it and walked out with a big smile on my face.
Just made sausage rolls for lunch and the mechanic is out servicing my car. Oh, yesterday afternoon my front passenger tyre seemed to throw itself into a particularly nasty piece of chopped up gutter. It tore rubber off and went down to the wires - like a cut in one tiny place - that has wrecked the tyre. Hmm, is that called tyre suicide? Not impressed. Anyway, off to the sausage rolls, they have cooled now.

Is Butter a Colour?
No. But Zali tested it.

Below is the carpet (I swear the photo doesn't show the insanity that was happening). Trying to keep Zali from running through it, wanting to rescue my buttered shoe and Caleb had quickly gotten his vacuum to help Mummy clean it up (but I still had to capture a pic!).
Close up of butter lumps. And a greasy little miss trying to escape her clean up.
Hubby was moving a bookcase for me, Caleb was supervising the move and Zali was supposed to be watching Hi-5. Wanting a TV-snack, she broke through the two fridge locks and thought she would have a 'go' at the butter. I figure it didn't taste as great as expected, however it flicked and bounced and flew really really well. That is a guess from the evidence presented to me.
On a different and cleaner note, today I snapped a cute one of Bubbles. She looks just a tad different after her haircut. Lost a lot of the 'black' and came home looking a little like an old grey man. It is growing pretty quick though so I am sure there will be shoots of black popping up before we know it.
Time for a sudoku puzzle or 4 and then bedtime. The hubby and the snoring is not making a peaceful sleep routine for me. I am considering the spare bed, or maybe I should hold his nose shut and see what happens. Mwa-ha-ha-ha!

Made It!
Happy Birthday to Nan for yesterday! I need to point out to Nan that Caleb and Zali wanted to ring and say Happy Birthday last night, but their drongy father forgot about them. Doh! Enjoy your shopping trip and see you very soon.
Last night I went out for dinner with my sweet friend Kerry. She took me out for my birthday, you see she gave me a voucher for a dinner out with her, and we finally got to use it! It was a great night - fantastic to be able to talk continuously without being stopped mid convo by the kiddies. She is about one week ahead of me with her pregnancy and she has a very cute baby belly - of which Caleb had to lift her shirt to look at the baby! Great food, excellent company and lovely to escape the house!
School holidays put me off my normal schedule. With Caleb home everyday I can never remember what day it is. But, very glad we made it to Friday and the weekend is v. v. close! They are having a snooze now, I may have just heard a bit of movement from the boy, but when they both are active we can go for a drive to check the post box. You know, might have the excitement of a bill!
Amy came and visited this morning, trying to have some more time here for when Janene returns to work week after next. Still need some settling time, but it is a big adjustment for a little person. My kids were getting tired also and when lunch was over it was definitely sleep time. I had a wee nap myself, just a small power nap and I feel good - except my hips, they been sore lately.
My house is generally a bomb site - the children feel the need to share the toys and crap between the rooms. Why should one room have all the fun of the toys, that would be just too organised and . . .
oops, my normal broadcast has just been interrupted by a small boy telling me his boggers are coming out. better get said boy a tissue.
chow.

Family Day
Caleb was Spiderman (and I forgot his mask! Doh!) and Zali was a Super Fairy! I didn't think to get a back shot of them, especially to see Zali's bewtiful wings, so this is the best I can show you. Her wings had flowers in them and I thought they were v. cute.
Her shirt was pale yellow and she wore yellow gumboots. The pink skirt had little mirror circles and tulle, all topped off with some pink beads. And a hat of course.

Caleb loved having a drink in a big cup of red cordial and lemonade - a real treat! Zali's treat seemed to be getting into the ice from the big containers holding the drinks. To suck.

Obviously I didn't try to dress up and look like a nutter - that comes naturally. : ) I was struggling to hold both of them, I think Caleb knew it and was a little off balance. Ooops.
There were nibblies, BBQ lunch and afternoon tea. There was a big jumping castle, bungee-trampolines and a rock climbing contraption. There was a baby area, a craft area and lots of liquid refreshments. There was face painting. There were take-home bags for the kids.
Caleb wasn't keen on having his face painted - even though I could have begged on my knees for a Spiderman face. Dressed up he called himself 'Soodieman Pie'. Yep. I have no idea either. Anyway, he liked the idea of a froggie on his hand, here it is:
Caleb got a little trophy and some books as winner of best dressed boys and Zali got runner up for girls and got a cool wobbly eyed colouring-in book. Sigh. First trophy for the trophy cabinet!
We were all knackered by the end. Some of us had a little sleep . . . But a Super Fairy had a huge three hour sleep and couldn't be woken for dinner . . .

Tucker
He had roast pork, Grandma had rib fillet with diane and caramelised onion sauce and I had cashew crusted chicken breast with lemon/garlic butter. We had chips and veggies - the mashed pumpkin totally rocked!
I got kids meals for the little grubbers. Caleb happily asked for the cheeseburger and Zali had the chicken strips. Their meals were enormous - I would have been happy with that serving cause mine was too much (and some ended up on hubby's plate). Additional to the above was chips, dipping sauce (tomato sauce sachet) and a salad. The meal pack comes with a few crayons and an activity/colouring book each, a drink (after I paid for our drinks and remembered about the kids inclusion I got them OJ from the tap, the nice lady behind the counter says 'they are refillable!) and a voucher to get an ice cream after dinner.
All for $5.90 each! Awesome!
They thought it was fantastic having the big cup and straw to drink like us big people. The sweeties rocked - individual little tubs of vanilla ice cream with topping of choice and some sprinkles!
And best of all the grubbers behaved very nicely. Wahoo!

HB Kate
Have a wonderful day and weekend (keep your celebrations going woman!) and celebrate your beautiful self. Look forward to catching up on Sunday. Mwah!
Sheesh
Caleb got a new red casting on Wednesday morning. Hayley, the v. cool physio, made a red-back spider to put on it, but he (grrr) pulled it off. We have a family day thing with Adrian's work on Sunday and the kids are to dress up as superheros. Caleb is going in his Spiderman outfit, so the cool spider on his cast was going to rock! Was. Throwing a few things together for Zali to be a fairy.
Back to the new cast. I haven't been letting Caleb outside much because the grass is damp/moist or just plain wet lately in this weather. The boot can't get wet at all and as a little boy who tries hard with that, sometimes the lure of fun and playing and too much laughter takes over. So I gotta be a tough Mum. Which means no park either, cause they are filled with sand or dirt or bark or some sort of crap that can't be in/around/near the cast. I can pull it off on Tuesday night (can't wait!) and then he goes back to his normal boot, phew!
Two active children couped up in the house for most of the week. Hmm. Equals psycho kids and a Mummy on. the. edge! After baths tonight I said to hubby I would be leaving shortly after I finished packing. Where are you going? he asked. I don't know, but I will return sometime in October! To make is worse today I have had such a killer headache that my good friend Panadol hardly touches, grrrr.
Have a good weekend all, I think I will go lock myself in my room.

of Late.
I sit here now drinking a freshly made Gloria Jeans Vanilla Creme de Caramel. After I drink it I am heading up for a wee nap. I made a big pot of coffee so hubby can have a second round . . . for me to try and earn some brownie points for when I attempt to sleep for as long as possible . . . before he sends up the monkeys to jump all over the bed and get me up. Hmpf.
Caleb had another round of Botox in his right calf at the beginning of June. We went in for some post-botox therapy on Thursday and the physio thought it best to have some casting done to further enhance the botox effect. He has a big red boot on till Tuesday evening when I can *try* take it off and give him a good old soaking bath. Until then he has face washer baths and is not allowed near water or sand or mud or anything moist, as that will destroy the boot and it will have to be removed immediately. His skin can get a 'bit sick' if it is in constant contact with moist/wet boot and we still need another whole week with a new cast (so he needs good healthy skin) when we return to the Royal Children's Hospital on Wednesday morning. Otherwise he is doing very well. He knows to take care of his boot, he is looking forward to showing everyone at Little School and is still a monkey.
Zali is powering along. More talking, loves practising her little jumping move, stubborn as ever, dances and sings and loves to cuddle and wrap and kiss and rock her babies.
This little baby is growing well inside. Caleb thinks it is funny to let out a shout to 'wake the baby'. I reply 'shhhh, don't wake the baby!' Then we talk about why it is in my belly, again. Instead of saying 'baby', we can now call him Baby G. Cause, yep, we are bringing another little (monkey) boy into our family (watch out world!).
Baby Amy had a day with us on Friday when her Mummy had to do a day of training. It was her first full day away from Mum and she was a little, erm, unsure/confused/cuddly. She handled herself very well I think, it is a big change for a little person. I think Mummy handled it OK also. Both their faces lit up when it was home time though! My two were a little jealous at times for all the cuddles Amy was getting, but they were pretty good and liked to play with her.
Anyway, Baby G is kicking me and that is my sign to head upstairs for my nap. Coffee was good. Sorry it has been so long between drinks (posts), need to improve on that.

Been Scrappin
Here is a few of the pages I did. Some I finished off today by adding the photos. I am not that flash at photographing my pages, they are actually square and the grey stuff in the corners is my back verandah of concrete.
The first ones are from Making Memories classes with Gail and Patty from Making Memories in the U S of A. They were lovely, the papers were beautiful - Noteworthy and Garden Party, and to top it off I won two prizes.

These three were from the Cute As a Button class with Nikala OBrien, a Brissy girl. They were fun and I loved how they turned out. They were all girly layouts and I have heaps of Zali photos to catch up on, so win-win all round.

I spent some time scrapping today while the kids were occupied at little school/kindy. I went out to the toy room to use a large sturdy desk that the neighbour had passed our way. It was brighter and there were windows to keep an eye on the weather and my washing hanging on the line. At pick up time I jumped in the car and left my scrapping on the table, neatly. I was hoping to go back when the kids were watching New McDonalds Farm at 3.30pm but was going to keep an eye on my stuff in case little wondering hands got too close.
In a split second Zali was up on the chair thinking she was in heaven. She had grabbed my black pen and pulled the lid off and started 'decorating' my current page. It was another Making Memories class page that I had added photos of our puppy Bubbles and the title, and wanted to add a bit of journalling to finish it off.
Well.
She coloured in both photos of Bubbles and added some squiggles on the left side and evened it off with some on the right side.
Oh. My. Gawd.
I took everything off the desk and straight back into the office. I know not to trust a sole again.
